Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice is on and I'm watchin' it again for the millionth time! I just love this movie! I wish they would bring back all the characters and actors and actresses and make a sequel, even if it isn't in the book, and show us what happens in their lives from the end of the movie.

Here is a great video that shows the best parts of the 2005 film version of Pride and Prejudice along with dialogue and music. I like this 2005 version the best. Perhaps it's the chemistry between Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Darcy and Kira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet. All the other actors and actresses are excellent too. The very last scene is amazing with them sitting outside on the veranda in the dusky twilight. It's like a Maxfield Parish or Robert Atkinson Fox painting come to life.
It's so beautiful what they say... and so romantic!

This is the older version of Pride and Prejudice from the 1995 TV series. Colin Firth is fabulous at playing the part of
Mr. Darcy. I'm a big fan of his movies.

Although this is old news, I just heard there is a third version of Pride and Prejudice. This one was made for "Lost in Austen" by ITV and created with a spin on the original story by Jane Austen. Elliot Cowan plays the part of Mr. Darcy, and actress Jemima Rooper plays Amanda Price who goes back in time to swap places with Elizabeth Bennet played by Gemma Arterton.
I haven't seen it but will definitely have to check it out.

Thank you Andie for the excellent info about this film. Her comment below has some fabulous Pride and Prejudice trivia!

Have any of you been to the places in Europe where they filmed Pride and Prejudice? I can only imagine how beautiful the grand estates and grounds are in person. I would love to see them someday. Why am I so fascinated with the past?

So which version of Pride and Prejudice do you like best?
Better yet, which version of Mr. Darcy do you like best...
Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen or Elliot Cowan?
